The directors

David Stevens

ACA Managing Director

David joined Bright Brown in 1999, training and qualifying as a chartered certified accountant and becoming a director in 2005. As well as a broad client base, David is a Registered Auditor. He is also responsible for practice assurance and finance.

David is a keen rugby fan, particularly if Wales are playing.

Mark Paxton

FCCA Director

Mark started training with Bright Brown in 1998 later qualifying as a chartered certified accountant when he moved to Garbetts in 2001. At Garbetts Mark built an extensive client portfolio. Mark became a director at Bright Brown when Garbetts merged with Bright Brown in 2014. Mark is responsible for Health and Safety, insurance and for all things relating to the building.

Mark is a keen cyclist and likes to ride at least twice a week, rain or shine.

Gavin Kelly

FCCA Director

Gavin joined Bright Brown in 1999, training and qualifying as a chartered certified accountant with the firm. He became a director in 2014 and now has a broad client portfolio. Gavin is a Registered Auditor and is also responsible for GDPR. Gavin is in charge of the firm’s computer systems including the administration of our network.

Gavin enjoys playing with computers at home as well as at work.

James Palmer

FCCA Director

James joined Bright Brown in 2001, training and qualifying with them. James became a director in 2019 and has built up a sizable and varied client portfolio. James is our training manager.

James enjoys listening to rock music and, when family commitments allow, enjoys the occasional music festival or gig.
